Description
Equine 74 Gastric is obtained from a special calcareous Marine Algae, Lithothamnion Glaciale (Maerl). This is harvested from the seabed off the coast of Iceland and then gently dried in Ireland.
The raw material is then further processed and packaged in Germany in various production steps – in other words, Made in Germany.
Red algae – the natural base of Equine 74 Gastric – contain 74 different minerals, including large amounts of calcium and magnesium, which are highly bioavailable to the horse.
Due to its high calcium and magnesium content and unique sponge structure, Equine 74 Gastric has up to 2.5 times the acid buffering capacity of supplements derived from limestone and used to buffer excess acid in the horse’s stomach.
This means that Equine 74 Gastric can buffer more stomach acid than conventional calcium-containing products. Equine 74 Gastric virtually absorbs the excess stomach acid like a sponge. This ensures a more balanced pH level in the horse’s stomach. In addition, the feed mash does not enter the intestine over-acidified. Consequently, the intestinal flora is more and more in balance, allowing the intestinal microbes to work better. This usually leads to improved utilization of the entire feed.
